Lumen makes hand-finished lighting, and their old shop made every lamp look like a product code on a white background. Customers loved the pieces in the showroom and shrugged at them online.

We designed the new shop like a magazine. Each collection opens with photographs of real rooms at different times of day, so you can see how the light falls in the morning and how it glows at night. Product pages show the lamp at true scale next to everyday objects, which quietly answers the most common question in Lumen’s inbox: how big is it?

Under the hood, it’s built to be fast. Pages load almost instantly even with large photography, and the Lumen team can publish a new collection themselves in an afternoon.

Customers now spend longer on the site, and they buy more pieces at once.
